Todd McVey

Bio

Coach Todd McVey leads the Tompkins High School athletic program as both Head Football Coach and Campus Athletic Coordinator, roles he’s held since his appointment in February 2017.

Under his leadership, the Falcons program has undergone a remarkable transformation. After a winless first season in 2017, Coach McVey guided the team to a 10–3 record in 2018, marking one of the most dramatic turnarounds in Texas high school football.

His commitment to excellence has earned him regional recognition, including being named Houston Texans’ High School Coach of the Year, and a nomination for the 2019 Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year award.

Prior to joining Tompkins, Coach McVey served in leadership roles across the state, including as an Assistant Athletic Director for Katy ISD, and as Head Coach and Athletic Coordinator in McKinney and Killeen (Harker Heights).

He was also part of the coaching staff at Texas City High School during their 4A state championship run in 1997.
